Wade practices with team, ready for Game 1

After being held out of full contact practice with the rest of the team, Miami Heat shooting guard Dwyane Wade was right back at practice on May 30. Wade, along with Udonis Haslem, Mike Miller and James Jones, didn't participate in Sunday's full contact drills with the rest of their teammates for precautionary reasons. Heat coach Erik Spoelstra felt the May 29 practice session was getting too intense, and he didn't want to take any chances with Wade who has been undergoing treatment for his surgically repaired shoulder.

Wade's health has been a concern for Heat fans, given all the punishment he has taken throughout the playoffs. From diving out of bounds, to taking hard fouls on his way to the rim, Wade has sacrificed his body for the Heat. A healthy Wade is an important ingredient in the Heat's championship recipe, and losing him at this point will be devastating for the Heat.

The 2006 NBA finals were all about Dwyane Wade who helped the Heat comeback from a 2-0 deficit to defeat the Dallas Mavericks. The Heat will need the same type of performance from Wade this time around, in order to bring another championship banner to the American Airlines Arena.

After practice, Wade spoke about the intense practice session the Heat had just gone through. Wade said, "Needless to say, this is one of the most anticipated practices for us all since training camp ... because this is the opportunity -- this is the time where not a lot of people on our team have been, not a lot of guys have been to the Finals."

Game 1 of the 2011 NBA finals will be on May 31. The Heat have home-court advantage and will be looking to jump off to a 2-0 lead in the series. Considering the Heat are yet to lose at home in the 2011 postseason, the odds are in their favor to do just that.
