The 2011 NBA draft will take place on June 23, and it will be interesting to see which player the Miami Heat will choose with their 31st pick.
It's no secret the Heat's "big three" will need some help from their supporting cast, and it's only wise to look at players that can come in and play their roles like guard Reggie Jackson, who averaged 18.2 points and 4.5 assists for the Boston College Eagles during the 2010/11 NCAA men's division I basketball season. Jackson is also a solid three point specialist, shooting 42 percent from beyond the arc in his final season with the Eagles.
The Heat will probably keep an eye on Jeremy Tyler as well. Tyler is 6'11" and the Heat can use all 263 lbs of him inside the paint. Tyler wasn't successful in his international basketball career, but at 20 years old, he just might turn out to be a solid big man one day. Tyler will surely be a huge risk for the Heat, but the potential reward is clearly there.
Andrew Goudelock is another player that the Heat might be lucky enough to grab in the 2011 NBA draft. Goudelock will give the Heat another scoring option, and should have no problems fitting in with the rest of the Miami cast. Goudelock finished his last season with College of Charlton averaging 23.7 points a game, while shooting 45 percent from the field. Goudelock's ability to drive to the basket coupled with his shooting ability, will make double-teaming the Heat's superstars that much harder.
There are also reports that the San Antonio Spurs are currently trying to deal veteran point guard Tony Parker. The Heat will be one of the teams trying to work something out with the Spurs, and it wouldn't be a bad idea if they sacrificed a few things for Parker's experience.
