Keys to Heat victory in Game 2

In Game 2 of their NBA Eastern Conference matchup against the Chicago Bulls, the Miami Heat will need to make a few adjustments to their game plan in order to get a better result this time around. In the first game of the 2011 NBA Eastern Conference finals, the Heat played well in the first half, but fell apart in the second. In Game 2, the Heat will need to remain focused for the entire duration of the game, if they want to stand a chance against the Bulls.

Ever since the Heat smashed the Boston Celtics in their second round playoff series, critics of the team have been quick to appoint the Bulls as the new unsurpassable obstacle in front of the Heat. While the Bulls did indeed sweep the regular season series against the Heat, it has to be noted that Chicago won the regular season series by a combined eight points.

For the Heat to get a better result in Game 2, they need to figure out a way to stop or at least contain the NBA's current MVP Derrick Rose. As long as Rose gets to drive the ball to the basket at will, the Bulls are good enough to compete with any team in the NBA. Take Rose out of the game, and the Bulls' inexperience will begin to show.

Luckily for the Heat, Dwyane Wade showed Miami fans he is more than capable to taking Rose out of his game. While guarding Rose in Game 1, Wade was the only player on the Heat roster who Rose couldn't toy with like he pleased. Wade held Rose to 2-6 shooting from the field while guarding him, something the Heat will need if they plan on stealing a game before heading back to Miami.

The Heat will also need to be more aggressive attacking the boards to win Game 2 against the Bulls. Despite the 103-82 final score in Game 1; Miami actually shot the ball better than the Bulls did. Second chance points turned out to be the difference between the two teams as the Heat allowed the Bulls to score too many second chance points.
