The Miami Heat had no problems defeating the Philadelphia 76ers 94-73, even with Dwyane Wade recovering from a migraine. The Sixers can't be happy with the fact they have now lost five straight games to the" big three", and are now two games behind in their first round NBA playoff series against the Heat.
For the Heat, their first round encounter against the Sixers is going as planned. The Sixers were able to compete with the Heat in the opening game of their first round NBA playoff series, but struggled badly in the second encounter between the two teams.
The Heat came out slow against the Sixers on April 18, only putting up 19 points in the first quarter. Miami did manage to build a six point lead, thanks to their tenacious defense. Miami played better in the second quarter, increasing their lead by 12 points. The Sixers were never able to get back in the game, and the Heat cruised all the way to the easy victory.
The Heat's defense against the Sixers was nothing short of spectacular, holding the Sixers to a 34.2 percent field goal percentage. The Heat didn't allow any player on the Sixers roster to score over 18 points in game two. When asked about the Heat's defense, Bosh said,
"We've had good defensive performances, but I think today was our best of the season."
Miami superstar LeBron James shot the ball better in his second playoff game as a Heat player. James made 10 of his 19 field goal attempts, finishing the game with 29 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Chris Bosh had the only double-double of the game, finishing with 21 points and 11 rebounds for the Heat.
Shooting guard Dwyane Wade was still productive for the Heat, a day after missing practice due to a migraine. Heat finished the game with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 2 assists.
Now, the Heat will go to Philadelphia, and try to close out the series against the Sixers. Game three will be played on Thursday April 21, at the Wells Fargo center. The Heat have never lost a playoff series after winning the first two games, and their encounter with the Sixers shouldn't be any different.
