When the 2010/11 NBA season started, many didn't think the Miami Heat had any chance against the Boston Celtics in a playoff series. The Heat obviously disagree. On May 3, the Heat won Game 2 of their second round playoff series against the Celtics 102-91.
Game 2 was competitive until the middle of the fourth quarter, when the Heat started to pull away. Once again, the Celtics looked slow trying to keep up with the young superstars on the Heat roster. Rajon Rondo led the Celtics with his 20 points and 12 rebounds, but at the end of the night his efforts weren't good enough to get his team past the Heat.
Dwyane Wade led the Heat to victory in Game 1 and LeBron James played the role of superman in Game 2. LeBron shot 56 percent from the field, finishing with a game high 35 points. Dwayne Wade had the second highest point total in the game with his 28 points. Chris Bosh had the only double-double on the Heat roster, finishing the game with 17 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists.
Besides Mike Bibby who finished the game with 8 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, role players on the Heat roster didn't have a particularly good showing against the Celtics. Luckily for the Heat, the combined 80 points dropped by the "big three" was more than enough to get Miami past the Celtics in Game 2 and build a 2-0 series lead.
With a two game lead against the Celtics in their second round NBA playoff series, the Heat are exactly where they hoped they would be going into Game 3 in Boston. Two games decided who would get home-court advantage between the two teams, and playing the first two games in Miami has definitely been beneficial to the Heat.
Now the pressure is on the Celtics as the series moves over to Boston. Anything less than two consecutive wins for the Celtics will be a complete failure for their team. For the Heat, with only one win in Boston, they'll be sitting pretty, ready to finish of the former "big three" in Game 5.
