The Viewsonic Viewpad 7 has brought some much needed competition to Apple's IPad and other tablets currently available. Upon completing a thorough review of the tablet, it is rather apparent this device will give all other existing tablets a run for their money.
A solid difference between the Viewsonic Viewpad and the IPad is this tablet's ability to function as a wireless phone. It comes with a built in sim card slot that allows it to work with multiple wireless carries. It also comes with 512 MB of ROM, allowing you to access your apps and other programs very quickly.
Simply trying to figure out all the tricks the Viewpad is capable of, will keep you occupied for days. I was truly impressed when I inserted my cell phone sim card into the tablet and saw how easy it was to use it for my calling needs. While the Viewsonic is more functional that it's competitor the IPad, it is just as easy to use.
The Viewpad also has all the connections we have all come to expect in our communication devices. It has Wi-Fi connections, as well as Bluetooth connections. With USB, memory card and pretty much any other connections available on other tablets, this tablet is best described as a cross between a net book and a cell phone.
Price is probably the Viewpad's biggest advantage over its' competitors like the IPad. The tablet is available for as low as $350, much lower than the IPad; which typically sells around $600 dollars. That was my main attraction towards this device, and it will be probably be the same for many other consumers.
A disadvantage I noticed while conducting a Viewsonic Viewpad tab review, is its' limited storage capacity; a problem its' main competitor the Apple IPad doesn't have. Many users like me will probably end up buying an external storage device, if they plan on storing all their videos and music on this device. Luckily, there are such storage devices available for this tablet.
While the Viewsonic has some advantages over the IPad and Dell Streak, the reality is that they all share a lot of similarities. The main advantage this tablet has is its' affordable pricing. For a buyer, it comes down to what you can get for you money. With the numerous tasks that can be performed on the device, there's no point paying double when you can get the same job done with a Viewpad.
