I was already running late for my flight and was relieved when I got to the check-in line and noticed it was short. I quickly checked my luggage in and got in line. The flight attendant was about shut the plane's door when I waved her down and got a disapproving look. I bustled to my seat and enjoyed what was a relatively calm flight.
It wasn't until I was the last one at the baggage claim area that I realized I had a problem. I had heard lost luggage stories but I never thought it would happen to me. I spoke to an attendant and she wasn't able to find out what happen to my luggage. She gave me a number and told me to call in a few hours.
Calling the airline was a horror in itself. I was kept on hold for a long period of time until a representative was finally able to locate my luggage. She told me I should have my luggage in a day and I ended the call feeling satisfied.
It turns out my luggage didn't arrive for three days and by then I was already on my way home. I got back home without my luggage and had to repeat the entire process all over again. I finally received my luggage two days later and vowed to never check-in luggage again.
