Miami Heat Poised to Take 3-0 Lead Against Boston Celtics

The Miami Heat will try to take a step closer towards the NBA championship when they face the Boston Celtics on June 1.

After struggling against the Celtics during the 2011/12 NBA regular season, the Heat have been impressive in the first two games of the Eastern Conference finals, taking a 2-0 lead without the services of Chris Bosh.
However, the Heat won't get to enjoy the support of their fans in Game 3, and they'll be in for a tougher challenge when the two teams meet at the Boston Garden.

"All we did was win two at home," Dwyane Wade said about Miami's upcoming contest. "That's a very good team over there that we know is going to give us everything -- their all -- come the next four days when they get two at home in Boston."

LeBron James and Dwyane Wade have really stepped up their game against the Celtics, putting up a combined 111 points in the first two games of the series. With Bosh's absence, Mario Chalmers has become a de facto member of the "big three," and the Heat will need more of the same from him in Game 3.

The Celtics put on one of their best performances of the postseason in Game 2, but it wasn't enough to get past the Heat on May 30. A tough loss like that would affect the morale of many teams in the NBA, but the Celtics have already shown how resilient they can be.

Heat coach Erik Spoelstra understands the fact that the Celtics are far from done, and he expects them to bring their A-game on Friday.

"This is a championship team," Spoelstra said about the Celtics. "They've proven themselves. And so the DNA that they have inside of them, that's why they're where they are right now. ... You get them in a seven-game series with the experience that they have, they're as tough as anybody."
