Video games are an integral part of modern entertainment, and the number of gamers around the globe continues to grow. There is a lot of variety in the gaming industry, with everything from strategy games to adventure series.
Once of the most successful genres of video games are the sport franchises, since those titles have been able to keep a large number of their early fans. Obviously, the developers of those franchises have had to create some awesome games to keep their fans loyal for years.
Here are the top five video game sport franchises of all time:

1. UFC undisputed The first installment of this Ultimate Fighting Championship based game was the first mixed martial arts title that delivered what MMA fans wanted. The developers took the time to understand the intricacies of the fighting arts, and combined that knowledge with excellent graphics and gameplay that made it an instant classic.
The second installment was a bit of a flop, but the folks at THQ redeemed themselves with Undisputed 3, which remains the best sports-based fighting game of all time.

2. Fight Night A classic among gamers who also happen to enjoy the sweet science, Fight Night gives users the chance to live out their ring dreams in a virtual world. The gameplay and graphics are a few levels ahead of any of their competitors, and the developers at EA always find ways to differentiate each title from its predecessor.

3. NBA 2K A late bloomer, the 2K franchise played second fiddle to EA Sport's NBA live during its earlier years, but all that changed with the 2007 title. Since then, this franchise is now considered to be the best basketball game out there.

4. Madden This sports franchise is so good, even non-football fans enjoy a little Madden play here and there.
