Three Easy-to-make Homemade Vegetable Juice Recipes

Vegetable juices are an integral part of any raw food diet, but that doesn't mean only vegans are allowed to enjoy these tasty and healthy shakes. Loaded with lots of essential vitamins, minerals, and anti-oxidants, some would say vegetable juices should be a part of every diet.

These juices are quick and easy to make, and they often serve as replacement for meals.

Here are three awesome vegetable juice recipes:

1. Carrot juice
Ingredients:
A pound of fresh carrots, a small lemon with its skin peeled off, two apples, green vegetables like carrot greens.

Directions: Wash all produce and put them in your juicer. Add some a few ice cubes if you want a chilled beverage. Mix, and enjoy your drink. If you're looking to reduce your sugar consumption, you can make this drink without the apples. While it's more nutritional to juice the carrots with the skin, some prefer to peel it off for a more refined taste.

Feel free to replace the lemon with an orange for a slightly different taste. Apples can also be substituted with pineapples or pears.

This drink is an excellent source of vitamins A, E, B, and minerals like carotene and calcium.

2. Celery Juice
Ingredients:
A pound of celery stalks, a small lemon, half bunch of parsley, and two cucumbers.

Directions: Wash all your ingredients thoroughly and put them in the juicer. Mix, and enjoy the drink. This is a favorite among hardcore juicers, so if you find the taste a bit too strong, you can sweeten it by adding sweet fruits like apples or pears.

However, for those who are primarily concerned about weight loss, it's best to follow the original recipe.

3. Detox Juice
Ingredients
: A small piece of ginger root, half bunch of cilantro, one small beet with greens, a small lemon, four carrots, half a cabbage, and four celery stalks.

Directions: Wash all your fresh products and combine them in the juicer. The final product is rather thick and strong, so feel free to dilute the mixture with water of you find it overbearing. This is medicinal drink that cleanses the entire system, and it's certainly better suited for experienced juicers.

If you still find the drink overbearing after dilution, feel free to add a sweet fruit or two like apples or pineapples.
