Mexico offers affordable surfing trips to surfers from all over the globe, at prices that are hard to beat.
There's lots of culture, the food is awesome, and, as long as you don't go around picking bar fights with cartel members, you don't have to worry about your safety.
Here are the three best spots to go if you're looking for affordable surfing trips in Mexico:
1. Sayulita Point A small fishing village, Sayulita is one of Mexico's biggest surfing secrets. It's away from the hustle and bustle of Mexico's popular tourist spots like Cancun, giving you a taste of the rural life. The water feels warm year round, and the waves come in all sizes, making it an excellent surfing spot for newbies. A few hundred dollars gets you a ticket to Sayulita, and a night at a hotel cost around $75. Food is cheap, so another $100 should cover your meals while you're there.
2. Puerto Escondido If you've already paid your dues on the boards, you might want a tougher challenge like Puerto Escondido. It's a popular destination for professional surfers, as well as the home of the Quiksilver Pro surfing competition. The powerful waves might be a bit too intimidating for beginner surfers, but you'll at least have fun watching the pros pull of sweet moves.

It's a popular surfing spot, making it an excellent way to network with other surfers. Hotels in the area cost around $90 a night, a plane ticket will cost around $500, and a couple of hundred bucks should take care of your meals for a short vacation.
