Miami Heat fall short against Jazz

The Miami Heat's struggles on the road continued on Jan. 14, losing 104-97 against the Utah Jazz.  With the loss, the Heat have now dropped four of their last six games.

The Jazz jumped all over Miami at the start of the contest, building up a 15-point lead by halftime. The Jazz increased their lead to 19 points by the end of the third quarter.

To their credit, the Heat fought back during the final quarter, and they gave the Jazz a decent scare.  However, it wasn't enough to make up for their poor play during the first three quarters.

LeBron James led the Heat against the Jazz, finishing with a game-high 32 points. He also had 6 assist and 4 rebounds. Chris Bosh was Miami's second highest scorer with his 16 points, but he had a hard time on the boards, finishing with only one rebound.

Mario Chalmers -- who scored 34 points during the Heat's previous outing -- had a quieter outing, finishing with 12 points and 7 assists.

Without a doubt, the Heat's poor rebounding was the number factor that led to their loss, as they only pulled down 23 boards to the Jazz' 40.  It's hard to compete in the NBA, when you’re getting dominated on the glass.
"It was low energy," LeBron told reporters after the game. "Low energy against a team like this on their floor with this amazing crowd, can't play with low energy."

The Heat's next game will be against the Golden State Warriors on Jan. 16.

  2. Agreed, they always find a way to get their act together for the playoffs. Didn't play that well on the road last season either.
