Mario Chalmers makes 10 three-pointers, helps Miami Heat snap two-game losing streak

The Miami Heat ended their two-game losing streak on Jan. 12, defeating the Sacramento Kings 128-99 at the Sleep Train Arena.

Right from the start, the Heat jumped all over the Kings, building up an 11-point lead by the end of the first quarter. Miami doubled their lead to 22 points by the end of the second quarter, and by the third quarter, the Heat led by more than 30 points.

The Kings never really got a chance to get into the game.

Mario Chalmers led Miami's offense on Saturday, finishing with a game-high 34 points (tied with Isaiah Thomas).  Chalmers was particularly effective from long range, stroking down 10 of his 13 shots from behind the arc. LeBron James also had a solid outing against Sacramento, walking away with 20 points, 7 rebounds, 5 assists, and 5 steals.

As a team, the entire Heat squad played solid basketball, shooting 56 percent from the field and 46 percent from beyond on arc. They also held it down on the defensive end, holding the Kings to 43 percent shooting from the field.

"For the most part we played to our identity, aggressive at both ends of the court," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra told reporters after the game. "It was good to get a game like this anywhere, home or away. It was good to see our team put its foot down on the pedal and keep it down."
