Frank Mir vs. Daniel Cormier set for UFC on Fox 7

Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix winner, Daniel Cormier, called out UFC veteran Frank Mir shortly after his last fight against Dion Staring, and he's going to get his wish.

Cormier and Mir are set to collide at "UFC on Fox 7" set for April 20, at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, Calif. The fight card will be headlined by a title clash featuring current UFC light-weight champion, Ben Henderson, and Strikeforce champ, Gilbert Melendez.

Kevin Lole confirmed the news early today, and it's since been verified by UFC officials.

"Ask and you shall receive – Bendo/Melendez and Cormier/Mir official for 4/20 UFC on FOX," the UFC revealed.

Mir was originally scheduled to face Cormier last November, but an injury forced him to pull out of the bout.  The fight made a lot of sense back then, and it still does now.

I can't think of a better way to welcome Cormier into the UFC, than a fight against Mir.  We'll get to find out right away if he belongs with the big boys in the UFC's heavyweight division (which I do).
