Paulie Malignaggi reflects on his controversial split-decision victory against Cano

Paulie Malignaggi enjoyed a controversial split-decision victory against Pablo Cesar Cano on Oct. 20, but the "Magic Man" feels the judges made the right call. As far as the WBA world welterweight champion is concerned, he earned his victory against Cano, and he's already put the controversy behind him.

"Through two-thirds of the fight, I was barely touched," Malignaggi said during an interview with FightHype.com. "I'm a white guy, dude. If you look at me in the corner, I mean, if I'm being hit, you'll know. If you look at me in the corner through 8 or 9 rounds of that fight, I'm unmarked, you know what I'm saying...at the end of the day, the result stands, you know what I mean? It's a split decision win for Paulie Malignaggi and I'll go on to other things, and I'm still the WBA welterweight champion."

Paulie actually got off to a good start against Cano, but the latter found his groove as the fight progressed. Cano took over in the middle rounds, and he capped off what should have been a victory with his 11th round knockdown of Malignaggi.
