Adrien Broner obliterates Antonio Demarco, what's next?

Adrien Broner (25-0-0, 21 knockouts) passed the toughest test of his professional boxing career on Nov. 17, stopping Antonio DeMarco (28-3-1, 21 knockouts) during the eighth round of their encounter at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J., capturing the WBC lightweight title in the process.


After a slow first round, Broner established himself as the superior technician, consistently backing DeMarco off with his jab.  Antonio tried to fight his way back in the third round, but Broner quickly shut his comeback attempt down. 

Broner started landing some vicious uppercuts in the middle rounds, and he hurt Demarco badly in the eighth round, prompting the Mexican's corner to throw in the towel.

Given how dominant Broner was throughout his fight against DeMarco, it's hard to deny the fact that he's one of the most promising rising stars in boxing right now. At times during the fight, Broner looked like boxing's pound-for-pound king, Floyd Mayweather, but with a lot more pop in his punches.
