Duke Gets Past Tennessee in First Round of Maui Invitational

The Duke Blue Devils put on a solid performance against Tennessee on Nov. 21, defeating the Volunteers 77-67 in the first round of the Maui Invitational tournament.
The Blue Devils offense looked smooth against Tennessee, shooting 48 percent from the field. The Blue Devils weren't bad from the three point line either, knocking down 39 percent of their shots from behind the arc.

Second Half Run Propels Duke to 82-69 Win Over Davidson

Things keep looking good for the Duke Blue Devils, securing their fourth straight win of the season with a 82-69 win over Davidson on Nov. 18. Davidson certainly wasn't intimidated at Cameron Indoor Stadium, taking control of the game early and dominating the first half of play. The Blue Devils took back the lead in the middle of the second half, led by Mason Plumlee who had an incredible game against Davidson.

Floyd Mayweather Comments on Pacquiao Vs. Marquez Decision

On Nov. 12, boxing fans witnessed one of the greatest robberies of all time when Manny Pacquiao got the nod over Juan Manuel Marquez, after their 12 round encounter at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Duke Blue Devils Manhandle Presbyterian in 96-55 Blowout

The Duke Blue Devils looked a lot better in their second game of the 2011/12 season, dominating Presbyterian on their way to a 96-55 victory on Nov. 12. Manny Pacquiao was considered boxing's pound-for-pound best going into the fight against Juan Manuel Marquez on Nov. 12, but the Filipino boxer/singer/politician couldn't live up to his title. For the third time in his career, Manny struggled against a man Floyd Mayweather completely outclassed. Luckily for Pacquiao, the fix was in, and he walked away with the unearned victory.

Duke Blue Devils Kick Off Season with Close Win Over Belmont

The Duke Blue Devils were able to walk away with a victory in their 2011/12 season opener, defeating the Belmont Bruins 77-76 on Nov. 11. The game was a lot closer than many had expected, but in the end the Blue Devils were able to pull out the win and move Coach Mike Krzyzewski one game closer to tying Bob Knight for the most wins as a coach in NCAA Division I history.

Former IBCA light-heavyweight champion Art Jimmerson (33-18-0) would like to get a shot at former MMA fighter turned professional boxer Kimbo Slice (2-0-0). Like Kimbo, Jimmerson has also been inside the Octagon, losing to Royce Gracie in the very first UFC event. Now 48 years old, Jimmerson hasn't laced up his gloves in over eight years, but he's pretty confident he'll be able to handle Kimbo.

David Stern Issues Ultimatum to NBA Players

The NBA lockout might have just taken a turn for the worse with Commissioner David Stern's decision to try and intimidate players into accepting a deal than can give them up to 51 percent in basketball-related income. The NBA Commissioner made the proposal after talks resumed between the two sides on Nov. 5. Stern has given the players until Nov. 9 to accept the deal, but I'll be extremely shocked if the players decide to budge.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship will start off their new partnership with the Fox Network on Nov. 12, with a title match between current heavyweight champion Cain Velazquez and number one contender Junior Dos Santos. Kasey Keller Bows Out After Legendary Career

With the Seattle Sounders' 3-2 (aggregate) loss to Real Salt Lake in the first round of the 2011 MLS Cup Playoffs, veteran goalkeeper Kasey Keller is officially a retired player. Keller has been with the Sounders since the very beginning, and it will take some time to get used to not seeing number 18 manning the posts for Seattle.

Sounders FC Sent Packing Despite 2-0 Win

The Seattle Sounders FC's 2011 MLS Cup Playoff run came to an end on Nov. 2, even though they were able to defeat Real Salt Lake 2-0. As expected, the Duke Blue Devils had no problems in their Nov. 2, exhibition game against the Shaw Bears, winning the contest 80-66. The Blue Devils didn't give Shaw much of a chance during the encounter between the two teams, taking control in the opening moments of the game and never looking back.

The Seattle Sounders FC will have their work cut out for them when they face Real Salt Lake on Nov. 2. Heat Owner Micky Arison Fined for Controversial Comments

Miami Heat owner Micky Arison was fined $500,000 on Oct. 31, for comments made about the ongoing NBA lockout via his twitter account. A fan sent the Heat owner a heated message, and Arison responded to the fan, telling him, "You are barking at the wrong owner." Arison also posted a few other controversial comments on his twitter account, and it's the combination of them all that probably got him in trouble.
