Dana White releases Fedor Emelianenko from Strikeforce

UFC president Dana White reminded MMA fans how big his ego is by releasing Fedor “The Last Emperor” Emelianenko from his current contract with Strikeforce.

Fedor who has compiled an MMA record of 31 wins and 4 losses has struggled in his most recent fights. While Zuffa has cut other MMA fighters in the past for short losing streaks, you would think being one of the most recognized heavyweights in the sport grants you an exception.

Personally, I find the decision to release Fedor like some no-name fighter very disrespectful. It is decisions like these than make the average MMA fan, distrustful towards the UFC boss.

It’s like cutting Anderson Silva for losing a few fights after all he has done for the sport. Oh wait…Dana White did threaten to cut the champ after his UFC 112 win over Damian Maia.
