Rich Franklin lands movie deal
Former UFC middleweight champion Rich "Ace" Franklin has secured a movie deal with Double E Pictures. The movie which will be titled "American Fighter," will be based on Franklin's career as an MMA fighter. It really isn't surprising Franklin's story is going all the way to Hollywood, given the MMA veteran's journey to the UFC's middleweight championship.

Cung Le aiming for spot at UFC 139
MMA veteran Cung Le revealed his desire to compete at UFC 139 in an interview with MMAWeekly.com. Brett Rogers released from Strikeforce after multiple felony charges
It came as a surprise when UFC president Dana White announced on June 30 that Strikeforce veteran Brett "The Grim" Rogers had been released by the promotion. Rogers, who has a solid 11-3 MMA record, was arrested earlier on June 30, and subsequently charged with third degree assault, stalking, and domestic assault by strangulation. All three charges are felonies in the state of Minnesota, and Rogers was charged with a misdemeanor charge of child endangerment as well.
